Times have changed and so have I

What have you missed since march? LOTS and LOTS! I like bullet points to keep it from getting confusing
  • Clemson Boy(kBe) and I are still going strong
  • kBe's mom just finished chemotherapy for Breast Cancer (We're thinking a lot more pink these days)
  • I'm officially a 21 year old, feeling no different just a little older
  •  I now bear the title intern, yes it is exciting, nothing big but I am loving every moment and soaking up so much knowledge
  • I'm still living the sorority life and in full force now, I am living in the sorority house (absolutely LOVE!)
Most of all I have learned more about myself these last few months, I think I ran from blogging as a way to hide away from everything, but blogging is something I enjoy and is a great tool for me to use to express myself and the things I love. I have learned to not live in the past but to press forward in to the future. I may not have it all figured out and I probably never will, but learning to embrace that it is the key.

Glad to be back!

Huge Announcement....if your even still reading

I AM BACK! After much debate, I have decided my blogging hiatus is over! While much has changed and I have debated whether to began a new page, I think sticking to what I know with maybe a little uplift is the right move for me. I cannot wait to be back in it, I have missed it SOOOO much. If your still a follower and still a reader be sure to leave a little note, because my most major hold up is the fear of all my readers having given up on me. Be ready for a wild ride and so many new adventures!!!

Thought this was the perfect quote to represent my new blogging philosophy :)
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

A Day in the life of...

Ahhh about over this silly sickness and boy is the spring weather helping, but I have so much to share:

What you've missed:

  • I got selected to be a Rho Gamma during recruitment next fall, basically this means I will disaffiliate with my sorority during recruitment and be a counselor for the potential new girls going through rush, some of you might know them as Pi Chis, they are the same thing! Can you say khakis shorts instead or dresses and curls?! I am pumped!

  • The fine university I attend selected me as its target for a parking ticket last week, my first of course because my silly hang tag fell. Cut me some slack?! Not only will the ticket be over $20 but they also took pictures of my car. Thank you rent-a-cop!

Now for the post: A day in the life of my parents

They are crazy, goofy, and sometimes annoying but I love them and I just had to share the adventure I had with them last weekend. It was straight out of a comedic film. We went to a local history museum and what a hoot that was... the poor museum had scratched out incorrect info instead of replacing it...but my dad was fascinated so it was fine. After all the "great" history we learned my parents decided to become a real life Louis and Clark and search out places they saw in the museum. Needless to say the iPhone was the true explorer because it found our destination before Louis and Clark. In between there my parents decided we should join the grandparent crowd at 4:00 in the afternoon to eat. Early bird special much?!? :)Later on we went to visit my parents friends. Bare in mind these friends are in their mid 70s, so this included an evening of westerns and me hoping my phone battery wouldn't die. I love the people, but westerns ehhh not so much. Oh the hilarious life of my parents. It may not be my perfect evening but it was filled with memories and well a whole new perspective.

This week I am beaching it up with girlfriends from high school for SB! Hopefully I will be able to update you with photos, if my computer doesn't die because part of my charger is missing Ha!!! So glad to be back

What I am loving Wednesdays

I had a completely different post planned today, but I felt a much more prominent topic was on my heart. FAMILY! Most of you are completely aware of how important my family is to me, but one particular person stands out in my mind today. My Uncle Dixon, just three short years ago today I lost him to cancer. I don't usually open up about these things, but he was such an important role model in my life that I felt as though I wanted to share a little bit about him. He didn't get to see me speak at my high school graduation and he won't be there to watch me walk down the aisle or to be a great uncle, but in his time he truly shaped the person I will be and I carry him in my heart forever. Dixon was such a godly man, before I was born he would come take care of my Mom when she was pregnant with me while my Dad travelled a good bit. My earliest memories have him in it. He was always there to listen, encourage, and give advice. I remember the first time he knew I was dating or saw I was wearing make up, he would always tell me to watch out. He was there the first time I marched in a parade and though he didn't make to my final performance Senior year, there was another special human being there. My Aunt Melanie, my uncle's wife was there in the stands to complete the job my uncle started. Since that, my Aunt has become such a rock in my life. She inspired me to be Greek and to enjoy the complete sorority experience. I tried to find a couple pictures to show you, but I can't bear to see some photos from the end, so I jut found a more recent photo of my aunt and I

Have a great week and enjoy the precious time with your family!

Apparently I am not a good email checker here lately, but while checking my Gmail account today I received the sweetest little gift from Ally over @Medical Prepster. The Stylish Blogger Award!!!Awards really make blogging worthwhile and they really give the opportunity to honor some pretty awesome people. • Quoting Movies- People hate watching movies with me because I constantly quote them.
  • Gossip Girl- The ultimate show filled with fashion, secrets, and CHUCK BASS
  • Football- I may be a girly girl, but nothing beats a Saturday tailgate and watching some good ol pigskin
  • Philanthropy- I love anything and everything I can involved with doing Philanthropic work; my current Philanthropy is my sorority's Autism Speaks
  • Sleep- Thanks to college I don't see much of this, but when I get to sleep in it is great

WILW: MY FIRST

My First! What am I love today... old school music! Memories from high school and some of the most important moments of my life...Memories are free and that's about all I can afford right now(thank you textbooks)Since I am not technology advanced and don't know how to post you tube videos just yet, I will just link them. So take a trip down memory lane with me!
I'm So Paid-Akon No matter who I was with this song always made the party hoppin or the mood lighten. This was one of those roll down the windows and turn the volume up songs
I'm On A Boat-Lonely Island SENIOR YEAR as perverse and crude the song was the catchy made my senior summer and definitely still makes me remember some really great times
Light On-David Cook This song is the meager beginnings of a now almost two year relationship, who knew a great friend would turn out to be my first love and my rock. No matter where we go or how far away, that light will still be shining on.
Barbie Girl-Aqua What girl hasn't hummed this?!? Ohhh the ultimate girl tune and I can't lie it used to be my ring tone!
My Little Girl-Tim McGraw The daddy daughter song that will played at my wedding, it perfectly describes my relationship with my dad and step dad, bless that poor boys heart that has to ask permission ;)
Only Wanna Be With You-Hootie and the Blowfish The 90s whoop whoop? Strangely this reminds me of memories of dancing around the kitchen with my mom when I was 5. We didn't have a lot and it was just her and I, but a black radio was all we needed to be entertained.
3-Britney Spears Freshman year of college and the new friends and adventures we got into. Who knew a little small town South Georgia girl would become one of the best friends I'd have through speeding tickets, sorority beginnings, and just jammin through C-town.
For Good- from Wicked the Musical Only my best friend since the 6th grade would understand the meaning of this song. I'm a musical nerd, but this song is my all time favorite because no matter the distance because of Suzanne, "I do believe I have been changed for the better" love you Suzie-Q
Hope you all have enjoyed my trip down memory lane!

lost in translation

Well here I go going almost 2 and a half weeks with out blogging. In the midst of all that has gone on, I missed wishing each of you a Happy New Year and I hope it was splendid for everyone. As part of it being a new year I think back to last year when I began blogging and I see how far I have come in that time. Each of you have learned so much about me and I have made some really great blogger friends and I appreciate the support each of you give by reading my page. Enough of the cheesy though.

This Christmas I received some really great items which are essential to any college girl. I got a great monogram canvas bag from L.L. Bean, but somehow my mother must've thought the bag should fit me in it, so it is VERY large, but if you know me I don't pack light so it is ideal. I also got my annual Vera organizer from my best friend, this years pattern: Twirly Bird Pink. My parents also bought me a Pandora bracelet, though I am a little late on that train I am excited because it is something I can use for years. The sweet boy found me riding boots, I had been searching for months for the perfect pair and he found a Steve Madden pair that is just perfect! My father found me the perfect J.Crew blazer and Sperry duck boots, so I think it is safe to say I will be decked out for winter and rain.

The infamous bag, along with my other shopping treasures.

Otherwise, I am currently snowed in, many of you know I was supposed to be at the Governor's Inauguration and Gala today and instead am stuck in my apartment. It isn't exactly how I planned everything, I already had dresses all picked out, but apparently mother nature had other plans, so I will use this time for other things like blogging. I hope you all are having a pleasant new year and are fulfilling your resolutions.
