Looking Back

Reminiscing... such a strong word, but I hate it because I can never spell it correctly. Anyhow, this week I began Reminiscing. My roommate, TMoss and I began slowly removing things from our walls and desks and closets as we prepare to move out of our dorm, and with each removal comes a story. A story of a late night laugh or dance party ( we loved to dance, and I am sure whoever lives below us despises us). Either way we have had so much shared in such a small space. While we come from two different spectrums, her being OCD, while me not so much, we somehow managed to live and breath in the same small area for the entire year and throughout it all we sparked one amazing friendship. Within nine months we have grown from young women to two independent ladies and we have learned life lessons along the way. Fortunately, both of us have decided to continue to be roommates next year, but thankfully we will both have seperate rooms, so she won't have to deal with my mess :). I have found some of our first photos from college, that we dug up as we were going through stuff.

My favorite photo of us!

Life in the FAST lane....

Well, it has been a few days, and quite whirlwind since my last blog, but let's get the big news out of the way first... Greek Week was a success once again. AXID won for the 4th year in a row!!!!!!! Yes, quite an exciting accomplishment. In addition, one of our sister's was named Greek Goddess, our 6th year winning that title!!!! Throught the week we dominated in events such as Penny Wars, Letter Count (which is quite hilarious), Trivia, and recieved awards for our community service efforts. Another sister also recieved the living the ritual award, which is AmaXIng!!! Okay, enough bragging, so sorry!!! I feel like a mother boasting her honor student child.... Me and couple of my pledge sisters on Game day Performing during the Variety Show, out theme was SNL!
Me and the Big Sis at the Letter Count, yes that is me hidden behind all that clothing. The object is to have the most stuff on donning your letters.

SOOOO on to more things!!!!!!

This past week, I had an encounter with a raccoon, yes RACCOON!!! It was standing outside my building when I was walking in, I was on the phone with my roommate, at first glance I thought it was a cat, but when I realized it wasn't I quickly yelled a few curse words, whole it preceeded to follow me, I thought I was going to wet myself, thankfully he jumped in the trashcan and I ran inside!!!
I also have a new obsession with Belks Department store.... There dresses this season are fabulous and the sales are amazing, plus the fit of their clothes is applicable to most body types, which is great for me. Plus dress shopping just makes me excited for SUMMER, which is almost here thank goodness! I only have two days of classes left and two finals and I have officially completed my freshman year... Exciting?!?! I think YESSS!! Here's to a good week and some extra sleep, I need to catch up from greek week!!!

Also check out my big's blog this week, she is blogging about the positives things in her daily life this week as an effort to stay positive through the end of the semester. http://blondeambitionklh.blogspot.com

Friends can cure anything

Lately I have found that friends are the ultimate cure to anything and everything. In the past year, I have made so many new friends while in my freshman year and of course those who have been with me since high school and before. An inumeral amount of my friends became my sisters when I joined AXID, but some of the most important people in my life have been with me through it all. My best friend Suzanne is one of those people. She has been with me through relationships, high school dances, drama, grades, and anything else you can imagine. Even more lately though we are miles apart now due to college she has been a wonderful listener and she had all the right words to say that make everything better. In addition to that, her family has become like an extended family to me. Though there are many other people who I have met along the way who have been great friends and mentors to me, nothing is the same as a BEST friend, and they are a dime a dozen. I am thankful for all of my friends and the impacts they have made in my life, but most of all I am truly thankful for my best friend.

Carefree living in the mad world around me

Well, it has been quite a few days since I last blogged, but boy has life been crazy. As soon as I returned from the beach, I felt like my schedule just got busier and time flew by. I believe I was and still maybe in somewhat of a "spring break" mode. I have never been as easy going as I have most recently all while everything stressful is going on right in front of me. With finals coming up not to mention preparation for the annual Greek Week, here on campus, along with State and Founders Day, which will be held at our sorority house here, I have faced it all in a more calm manner than I ever thought imaginable. In other sorority news, I am so proud to call my AXID sisters second time winners of the annual Pi Kappa Phi's War of the Roses, which is a week of competitions between all sororities on campus and all money raised is given to Pi Kapp's philanthropy Push America. My sorority sister, JHill and I riding around collecting money for Push America to raise money for wheelchair ramps.

Also, since spring break I have acquired a new friend, who I am happy to tell about. Tmoss, my roommate and I met this sweet girl at our weekly bible study. Her name is MB and she is such a doll, we are all planning to go apartment hunting this week to look for housing this coming fall. Tmoss, MB, and I all made a roadtrip to Atlanta the other night for the infamous grease of the Varsity. It was delicious and afterward we made a pit stop at Atlantic Station, which is an outdoor shopping venue for dessert. Everyone is trying to go out doors as much as possible, considering the fact that the westher has been BEAUTIFUL in Georgia!!!!!!!!! It has been great to pull out sundresses and flip flops.

All of us at Atlantic station: me, MB, Luke, and Tmoss. Then us girls.

Finally, I was so excited to see my parents this past weekend for easter. My mom and I took a shopping trip, which is always wonderful, and the easter bunny stopped by and left me some good stuff.
